Speaker Information:
Dr. Antonio E. Puente, a Cuban-born clinical neuropsychologist, has over 40 years of experience
in academia, clinical work, and leadership. He is a Professor of Psychology at the University of
North Carolina Wilmington, where he also founded UNCW’s Centro Hispano, and maintains a
private neuropsychology practice. His research explores the intersection of culture and
neuropsychology.
Dr. Puente is the founding editor of Neuropsychology Review and the Journal of
Interprofessional Education & Practice, and has authored 10 books and over 200 scientific
publications. He founded the Cape Fear Clinic, a bilingual health center for underserved
populations, and served on the AMA’s CPT Panel for over two decades. He has held presidencies
in several professional organizations, including APA Division 40, the National Academy of
Neuropsychology, and the Hispanic Neuropsychological Society.
